History

North American Electric, Inc. is a wholesale supplier of General Purpose and Special Purpose, AC electric motors.  We take pride in supplying high performance, high quality products at extremely competitive prices throughout the United States, and abroad.  Donald E. Hackman, Sr. and David E. Hackman founded the company in October of 1993.  The company’s primary focus is sourcing high quality electric motors from reliable manufacturers around the world and distributing them throughout the United States, and abroad.  Our nationwide distribution and service network offers strong local support for our products by providing critical logistical, technical and maintenance support as well as fast, friendly customer service.

When the company began in 1993 the product range consisted of Three Phase, TEFC, General Purpose, AC motors from 1HP up to 150HP.  Our product range now includes NEMA Premium Efficient, Three Phase, TEFC, AC General Purpose Motors from 1/3HP up to 500HP and Single Phase, AC General Purpose Motors from 1/3 HP to 10 HP.  In addition, our range now includes Special Purpose Motors such as Three Phase, TEFC NEMA Design D, Oil Well Pump Motors, Crusher Duty Motors, Vertical Hollow Shaft Motors, Compressor Duty Motors, Farm Duty Motors, Close Coupled Pump Motors and Stainless Steel Washdown Duty Motors.  Our company specializes in only sourcing products of the highest quality from manufacturers that meet the toughest industry standards and offer certifications such as UL, CSA, CE and ISO9001.

North American Electric, Inc. is now a large wholesale distributor for Curtiss Wright / Benshaw Electric Motor Controls and Drives, which is sourced here in the United States.

Our management team is constantly working to improve customer satisfaction to greater levels though improved logistical, technical and maintenance support.  We are constantly working to improve our information technology to enable our customer service staff, as well as, our customers to access information quickly to improve after sales and field support for our products.  We will continue our efforts in the future to better serve our customers.
